Andrew Terraciano Learned ‘Boston Blue’ Recast Sean on the Day He Graduated

Andrew Terraciano is opening up about a bittersweet moment that came on one of the biggest days of his life. The Blue Bloods alum revealed that he learned Boston Blue would be recasting the role of Sean Reagan on the same day he graduated.

Terraciano, who portrayed Danny Reagan’s youngest son for more than a decade on Blue Bloods, said the news came as a surprise. Graduation was meant to be a celebration marking the end of an important chapter, but it quickly became complicated by the realization that another chapter—his long-running role in the franchise—was closing as well.

Despite the timing, Terraciano expressed gratitude for his years on Blue Bloods, noting how much the show shaped him both personally and professionally. Growing up on set alongside the cast and crew gave him experiences he says he’ll always carry with him.

While Boston Blue will continue the franchise with a new take on the character, Terraciano made it clear he’s proud of the work he did and excited about what comes next. For him, graduation day ultimately symbolized transition—honoring the past while stepping into new opportunities ahead.
