Former ‘Blue Bloods’ Actor Addresses Recasting in ‘Boston Blue’ Spinoff

A former Blue Bloods actor is speaking out after learning he would not reprise his role in the upcoming spinoff, Boston Blue. Andrew Terraciano, who portrayed Sean Reagan for much of the long-running CBS drama’s 14-season run, recently addressed the decision to recast his character for the new series.

Terraciano revealed that he found out about the change around the time he graduated from college. According to the actor, he was told the spinoff would be taking the character in a different creative direction. While the news was difficult to hear, he said he understood the nature of television and expressed gratitude for the years he spent on Blue Bloods.

The actor also shared that Donnie Wahlberg, who reprises his role as Danny Reagan in Boston Blue, personally reached out to him about the recasting. Terraciano described Wahlberg as supportive and emphasized that he still considers many of his former castmates family.

Despite being replaced, Terraciano said he holds no resentment and wishes the new actor well, adding that he hopes fans will continue to enjoy the next chapter of the Reagan family story when Boston Blue premieres.
