Tom Selleck Plans TV Comeback After ‘Blue Bloods,’ Says He Wasn’t Ready to Say Goodbye
After more than a decade as Commissioner Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods, Tom Selleck isn’t ready to close the book on television just yet. Following the show’s conclusion, the veteran actor has shared that stepping away from the long-running CBS drama was emotional, and that he still feels a strong connection to the work and the audience it reached.
Selleck admitted that saying goodbye to Blue Bloods was not easy, especially after spending so many years with the same cast and crew. The series became a major part of his life, and he has expressed gratitude for the stability and meaningful storytelling it provided. Even so, he’s made it clear that retirement isn’t currently on his mind.
Looking ahead, Selleck is open to returning to TV if the right project comes along. While no specific roles have been announced, he has hinted that he’s interested in work that feels purposeful and well-written, much like Blue Bloods. For fans, that means there’s a good chance they haven’t seen the last of Tom Selleck on the small screen.
