Blue Bloods’ Reboot Suffers Another Disappointing Development
Fans hoping for a full-fledged Blue Bloods reboot have been dealt another setback. Despite continued interest in bringing the beloved police drama back to television, the latest update suggests that a traditional reboot is not moving forward anytime soon.
Instead, CBS has shifted its focus to expanding the franchise through the upcoming spinoff, Boston Blue, starring Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan. While the new series will keep the Blue Bloods universe alive, it won’t serve as a direct reboot featuring the entire Reagan family.
Although several cast members have expressed interest in returning under the right circumstances, there has been no official announcement that a true Blue Bloods reboot is in development. For now, fans will have to look to Boston Blue for the next chapter of the franchise while continuing to hope the Reagan family reunites on screen in the future.
