Kevin Costner Wins Partial Dismissal in ‘Horizon 2’ Stunt Performer Lawsuit
Kevin Costner has secured a partial victory in an ongoing lawsuit filed by a stunt performer over the production of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2. A judge has dismissed several of the claims brought against the actor and filmmaker, narrowing the scope of the legal dispute.
The lawsuit, originally filed earlier this year, alleged unsafe working conditions and breach of contract during the filming of Horizon 2, part of Costner’s ambitious multi-film Western project. The stunt performer claimed that production practices led to injuries and sought damages from Costner and his production companies.
In a recent ruling, the court agreed to toss out certain causes of action, finding insufficient evidence to hold Costner personally liable for some of the alleged misconduct. However, other portions of the lawsuit remain active, meaning the case will continue as both sides prepare for the next phase of proceedings.
Costner, who co-wrote, directed, and stars in Horizon, has not publicly commented on the partial dismissal. Representatives for both parties have declined to discuss the ongoing litigation.
