In fact, Selleck was the original choice to play Indiana Jones<\/span><\/span> before scheduling conflicts forced him to walk away.<\/p>\n

In the late 1970s, director Steven Spielberg<\/span><\/span> and producer George Lucas<\/span><\/span> were searching for the perfect actor to lead Raiders of the Lost Ark<\/span><\/span><\/em>. Selleck quickly rose to the top of their list, impressing both filmmakers with his charisma, rugged charm, and natural screen presence. He even completed a successful screen test, and many believed the role was his.<\/p>\n
